Guess what! Happened at the Expo....

Hi everyone- I wanted to let you know what happened at the Scrapbook expo in Sat. Well, I took my wall hanging project and submitted it, and guess what, I won 3rd place. Ok, not the best place to win. But at least I won something and I was happy about that.  So, ok I bet you are wondering what I won. Well here it is, I won a Slice machine.

Does anyone have the Slice machine? Do you love it? I have a Cricut Machine and I am not sure if I want to keep it. Please, any feed back on the Slice would be great!~ Tacey

My Scrapbook Expo project!

Well, I have finally got to have some time to post. I have so much to tell you and show you. First and for most, tomorrow is Scrapbook Expo in Ontario, Ca. and I am entering the paper crafting contest. For the last several years they have done a card making contest. And last year, I won 1st place with my snowman card. But this year they have changed the contest to a paper crafting contest, and basically anything goes! So, I was real excited, my creativity started flowing. Well, this is what I came up with!
My wall hanger for the papercrafting contest at the Expo 2010!
Ok, so here is what I did. I tied two metal hangers together with wire. I painted the hangers flat black, then started on my design. I had in mind to use this paper from graphic 45. Which I love so much! Called domestic goddess. So, as you can see I made the apron completely out of paper, made the rolling pin out of paper too. And all the other pieces are like card fronts, glued to the ribbon. The rolling pin was easy to make. I took a paper towel cardboard roll, and covered it with paper. Then I took foam core board, traced circles for the ends and made sure they fit snugly. I then covered the end circles with paper. I already had some cute little wood dowel pieces that looked like handles  to me. So, I put holes in the center of the foam core circles to fit the handles in snugly. Glued everything in place and voila, a rolling pin. I then added chalk to distress it.
After all the components were made, I assembled it. I added flowers and embellished with ribbon and wood clothes pins, wood bobbins and buttons. I love the way it turned out! I hope I win, but even if I don't I still have a fabulous piece to hang on my wall. Can't wait for all the fun shopping and make and takes tomorrow. Hope to see you at the show! ~ Tacey

HELLO EVERYONE!

Hi everyone~ Wow, it has been a rough week. I am sorry I didn't post, but I was layed up in bed with a very painful monthly visitor. So, I am back on my feet and I have finished a cute card that I absolutely love.  I had searched the Internet for some cute digi stamps and I came across this site. http://twoscoopsricedesigns.blogspot.com/

The free digi stamp is the Mumford mouse image. I then free-handed the whipped cream can. I then achieved the whipped cream with a product called Puffy Velvet fabric marker. It is made by Marvy uchida. Once you draw out what you want, you let it dry, then heat it up with your heating tool. And voila, Instant whipped cream- SWEET!
Well, I don't need to tell you what I thought of them, cause is self explanatory. I thought it would be so cute to make a card out of it! So here is Mumford Mouse from Two scoops rice designs. And did I mention it was free! She has got a couple really cute freebies over there. So check out her site, right after you check out my cute card! Please let me know what you think. Adios, till my next post.~ Tacey
This is the inside of the card. I usually try to decorate the inside to coordinate with the front.
